Grammar Nazis (with apologies to Godwin)

First they came for people who misspelled homonyms,
and I did not speak out because I knew they’re from there.
Then they came for people who misused ‘effect’,
and I did not speak out because it did not affect me.
Then they came for people who misused ‘incorrectly’,
and I did not speak out because I knew they were wrong.

Then they came for me,
and my prepositions were all I had to fight them with.

note: While writing the above poem, a dangling participle reference was sorely needed.
